I am honoured to be introduced to you; my name is Rona Sterling-Collins, Quist’letko, from the Nlha’7kapmx Nation. I was born and raised on Joeyaska Reserve where I live among my extended family, in the beautiful Nicola Valley (Merritt, British Columbia).
WHOLISTIC PERSPECTIVE:
I bring a wholistic perspective to my work to inspire and empower others. I strive to approach my life from a wholistic perspective utilizing First Nations culture and traditions and philosophy. I incorporate this philosophy into my work and personal life. I enjoy having coffee with family and friends, picking huckleberries, having laughs with others and marveling at my kids and what I learn from them.
Most of my life’s experience (personally and professionally) is grounded in First Nations communities. I am dedicated to the betterment and advancement of Aboriginal people.
BACKGROUND:
I have a Master’s Degree from the University of Victoria. In 1996, I started my own Consulting Business – Rona Sterling Consulting and currently work as a First Nations Consultant throughout the Province. I have assisted organizations with various projects for children, families and communities around needs assessments, community consultations, program development, program reviews, policy development, strategic planning, staff workshops, training and curriculum development.
I have undertaken many training events related to special needs, as our son is diagnosed with autism which has inspired me to learn as much as I can for his benefit.
